Meet Dr. Tom Pfeiffer, an esteemed German volcanologist, whose fascination with volcanoes and their phenomena has been a lifelong passion. With a Ph.D. in volcanology, Tom conducted extensive research on iconic eruptions like Santorini's Minoan eruption and Vesuvius' Plinian eruption in 79 A.D.
His journey as a volcanologist led him to traverse the globe, living and studying in various countries like Germany, Italy, Denmark, and Hawaii. A true adventurer, Tom's heart was captivated by the breathtaking landscapes of erupting volcanoes, inspiring him to become a renowned freelance photographer specializing in these awe-inspiring subjects.
Throughout his career, Tom's dedication to knowledge transfer and mentoring has grown exponentially. His expertise in capturing the essence of volcanic landscapes through photography has earned him international acclaim, with his works featured in numerous publications and projects. His book "Volcano Discoveries," published in 2015, stands as a testament to his talent and passion.
